In June 2025, volunteers from the Paraguay Baptist Medical Center Foundation (PBMCF) partnered with Centro Médico Bautista (CMB) to deliver compassionate care through mobile clinics across four Paraguayan communities: Cabañas - Ca’acupé, Choré - San Pedro, Atyrá, and Areguá.

Local churches in each community welcomed neighbors and connected them to medical services, creating a space for healing and hope. Together, the team provided 656 medical and vision consultations, while CMB chaplains offered spiritual care to 261 individuals — a powerful reflection of CMB’s mission to heal holistically through the love of Jesus Christ.

Dedicated volunteers from Samford University, Baylor University, Baptist Nursing Fellowship, and Baptist Medical Dental Fellowship joined the outreach effort.  Among them were Baylor Medical Humanities faculty, Dr. Lauren Barron and Dr. Chad Thompson, who contributed their medical expertise at the mobile clinics.

Another highlight of the trip was celebrating the expansion of the UCMB library, made possible through the first two phases of a memorial project honoring the late Donald Jones, a beloved former missionary to Paraguay. The newly renovated library features a special tribute to his lasting impact.

Thanks to generous donations, the library is just $12,000 away from fully funding the final phase of the expansion — with a goal to complete it by the end of the year.
