Hannah Sulver, Certified Nurse-Midwife
Hannah Sulver graduated from Baylor in 2019 with a BA in Medical Humanities and a minor in Biology. She is now a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) working in a high-volume, diverse practice in Tacoma, WA, alongside 18 other midwives.
Hannah provides comprehensive OB/GYN care, attending to patients from adolescence through menopause, and participates in deliveries in both hospital and birth center settings.
Hannah credits her path to midwifery to Dr. @[8MumbtllNW]’s Maternal and Infant Health course, where she learned about midwifery as a critical intervention for maternal and infant public health disparities.
She emphasizes that the core principles of Medical Humanities overlap closely with midwifery practice, guiding her commitment to patient-led, whole-person care that is warm, friendly, trauma-informed, and evidence-based.
Hannah encourages current students to explore advanced practice nursing degrees and consider careers in OB/GYN and midwifery.
She completed a direct-entry program through Vanderbilt, becoming an RN and then an APRN-CNM at the completion of her MSN degree, all while valuing the foundation she built during her four years in Medical Humanities at Baylor.
We are proud to celebrate Hannah’s dedication to improving maternal and infant care and her continued impact in the field of healthcare.
