Emilie Cunningham, PhD, MPH

Emilie Cunningham is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medical Humanities at Baylor University.  She is the former Director of Programs for Women and Children at Waco Family Medicine.  In that role, Dr. Cunningham worked to eliminate barriers for accessing care, as well as improve maternal and child health outcomes.  Prior to joining Waco Family Medicine, Dr. Cunningham served as the Family Life Coordinator for Ascension Providence Hospital in Waco.  She is also a Certified Childbirth Educator, Certified Lactation Counselor and Certified Doula.  Her primary interests are the disruption of health inequities and the humanization of the birth experience.  She lives in Waco with her husband, Wes, and their three teenage sons.
